I recently visited Stranges Florist, a supposed Richmond staple, and was met with an experience that left me utterly frustrated and disillusioned. Upon entering, I was drawn to an entire area filled with pots that had just been displayed, with price tags ranging from a couple of dollars to around $30. I picked out a plant and pot, expecting a reasonable total. To my shock, when the cashier rang up my selections, the total came to an outrageous $70. I immediately questioned this discrepancy, leading the employee to the shelf where I had found numerous pots clearly marked with the same price tags. Instead of addressing the issue, the area manager intervened, dismissively insisting that the prices on the shelf were irrelevant. She stated, in no uncertain terms, that they do not adhere to shelf pricing and are under no obligation to display accurate price tags on products. This is not just poor customer service; it’s a blatant bait-and-switch tactic. It’s unacceptable for a business to lure customers in with misleading pricing only to impose inflated charges at checkout. I came to Strange’s initially to find flowers for a birthday. I was delighted to find out that they also sell mylar and latex balloons. Megan was extremely helpful and so kind. She made me feel at ease ordering these balloons on demand. I was also delighted to see that their store had greeting cards as well. It was truly a one stop shop. I was grateful that Megan was patient and able to assist me. I will definitely return for future celebrations!

I love Strange’s, NOT the pests that came from their tomatoes. I have been gardening for 12+ years and I’ve never had a problem with pests in my garden. I’ve also always grown from seeds or purchased from Lowe’s. The one year I decide to “cheat” and buy from Strange’s is the year I have a god-awful hornworm problem. The plants then suddenly turned yellow and died all at once. I’d never seen anything like it. The flowers did well. And the price was unbeatable. But if you buy vegetables this season, CHECK THEM THOROUGHLY before buying. You just may invite a pest in.
